Which mortgage brokers does AI recommend?

AI's most-recommended mortgage brokers vary by country and city, and the rankings change every month. The AI Recommendation Index for Mortgage Brokers measures which businesses ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini recommend in response to buyer-intent queries. As of April 2026, the index tracks 7 cities across Australia, with 291 businesses ranked from 420 AI responses each month. Select a city below to see the latest rankings.

How the rankings are built

Four AI platforms

We query ChatGPT (via OpenAI), Claude (via Anthropic), Perplexity, and Gemini (via Google) each month using web-search-enabled API access to match consumer behaviour. This approach matches how real buyers interact with AI when asking for recommendations.

Sixty queries per city

Every city run submits 15 distinct prompts combining buyer framings: 'who should I hire', 'best', 'most recommended', and specific variants. Each prompt runs on all four platforms, giving 60 total responses per city per month.

Two scores

Businesses rank by ARS (AI Recommendation Share: raw mention rate) and CIS (Composite Index Score: weighted by frequency, platform coverage, position, and citation quality). Scores from real responses, never modelled or inferred.

Metric definitions

AI Recommendation Share. The percentage of tracked queries in which a business was named across the four AI platforms. A 48% ARS means the business appeared in responses to 48 of every 100 queries run. ARS is the primary ranking signal because it directly measures how often AI recommends a firm to buyers.

Composite Index Score. A weighted combination of four signals: recommendation frequency (50%), platform coverage (25%), position in results (15%), and citation context quality (10%). CIS rewards consistency of recommendation across platforms, not just raw volume. A firm with a high ARS but mentions on only one platform will score lower CIS than one with a moderate ARS across all four.

Questions people ask AI about this

The AI Recommendation Index is a monthly dataset showing which mortgage brokers are recommended by ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini. We run 60 distinct buyer-intent prompts per city on each platform every month. Every business either appears in a response or does not. No modelling, no inference, no paid placement.

Four platforms: OpenAI's ChatGPT, Anthropic's Claude, Perplexity, and Google Gemini. Each uses a different training approach, different retrieval system, and different citation handling. Tracking all four gives a more accurate picture of which mortgage broker firms are recommended consistently rather than on a single platform.

Monthly. Each city is re-run at the start of every month with the same prompt set, giving month-on-month movement data. Research from the Princeton GEO paper (KDD 2024) showed AI recommendations shift as training data, retrieval, and underlying search indexes update, so monthly cadence is required to detect genuine change versus noise.
